The use of AI in Medicine

The use of AI in medicine

By 2026, most, if not all people are familiar with Artificial Intelligence, or may have at least heard of it. It is a type of program that has made life easier for millions of people in many ways. After continued use of Artificial Intelligence, the technology had entered into industries, and slowly replaced jobs, leaving a significant impact on the international economy. Many may have continued to believe that Artificial Intelligence is revolutionary, and is worth being called 'Next Gen.' However, as the technology expanded globally over the years, it had entered into the scientific industry. It was used in the pharmaceutical industry, and many other scientific workplaces.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Pharmaceutical Industry

As Artificial Intelligence made its way into the Pharmaceutical industry, it is important to note that Artificial Intelligence is something that can do the work of thousands, but can never perfectly match a human's work, good or bad. Some examples of how AI is used in Pharma are: Increasing the speed of the R&D process of a product, it is also used to shrink drug discovery timelines by 1 to 2 years, by analyzing  genetic and chemical data to develop molecules, another major use is during clinical trials, where Artificial Intelligence shortens the duration of a trial by 15-30% by finding and matching eligible people for a trial, finally, AI helps maintain equilibrium in the supply and demand of a product by boosting the process of production. These are some ways that AI is being used to improve and increase the impact of the Pharmaceutical industry.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine

Artificial Intelligence is majorly used to create medicine and related products by pharmaceutical companies, but it is also used during the practice of medicine, by doctors, scientists, and physicians. For example, AI is used to analyze medical images and diagnostics like x-rays, and MRI scans, and detects early signs of disease. It is common for cases of complications to occur after a treatment, but Artificial Intelligence warns a doctor about risk factors before complications occur, and also helps find alternative treatment options. These are some ways that AI helps doctors.

Conclusion

Since Artificial Intelligence is heavily used in medicine, the FDA holds strict guidelines to make sure that companies and doctors follow the correct practices and uses of AI. It is important to use Artificial Intelligence responsibly, especially in an industry that works for many lives.
